clunk in u joints or trans?

clunk in u joints or trans?

Every once in a while when I take off from a stop I hear a
clunk from trans or u joints or? Any one else have this problem?
A bit early for noises I think, this truck only has 7800 miles.

Any ideas or similar problems???

The slip-yoke needs to be regreased.

how and were is that??

Does this have to be done by dealer or a grease gun at home?

I just thought I'd add here.
I've got an '05 Scab with the same symptoms.
I contacted the service manager @ the dealer I bought it from and described the probem as a popping sound that was similar to older fords I've owned with dry slip yokes.
He said they are aware of the problem, scheduled me in and told me it's either a dry yoke or ford has a kit for the rear end. He didn't elaborate on the "kit" but my understanding is that it was a repacement third member.

I have a clunk in mine. Had the dealer re grease but it didn't work and they ordered a new driveshaft that will be installed on Wed. of this week.

My FX4 had the same "clunk", they changed the rear end fluid with full synthetic and the problem was gone... covered under warranty. 6000 miles later and NO "clunk".
