315/70/17 BFG's installed with Daystar Spacer

FINALLY!

They had to remove the front Ford Molded Splash Guards to get them to fit. I had them mounted with the black letters out rather than the white letters out...I like it better that way.

There are more in my gallery.

Let me know what yall think...

TUFF FORD Feb 12, 2005 02:07 PM

Not a bit...and I went beyond the call of duty to try to get it to rub.

gas

How's the gas milage with those, I know on the 4.6 it's so bad, along with accelleration loss almost makes me want to take them off...

Look great!

Do you think 325's would fit?

And how well did the body shop match your paint? I have the same color.

Thanks

TUFF FORD Feb 12, 2005 06:00 PM

I don't know about gas mileage yet...they were just put on yesterday...I'll give an update in a week or so.

As far as the body shop paint goes...it's a perfect match. The truck looks fantastic. I think it looks better now than it did when I drove it off of the lot 14 months ago.

If I had to GUESS, I would say that the 325's would fit. That's just my uneducated guess though. When I was trying to get the 315's to rub, I was offroad, driving up and down steep hills, tried one tire at a time, forward, backward, side hill, etc., and they never caught anything.

TUFF,
That looks sooo much better. Now it actually looks "TUFF".

DUDE - AWESOME!

That was my original set up until I went with a 6" lift. I love those tires.

lonnie brown Feb 12, 2005 07:20 PM

any suspension lift needed to get thosew tires to fit?

nitzer280 Feb 12, 2005 07:56 PM

Just the 2" to 2.5" Daystar front-end leveling kit like he mentioned.

TUFF FORD - obviously I missed the story that explains what happened to your truck beforehand? With the wet interior and the sporadic scuffs and scratches on the exterior, I'm guessing you slid off the road, through a fence and into a river?? Goodness!

TUFF FORD Feb 12, 2005 08:45 PM

It was actually two different accidents:

Interior Damage:

Exterior Damage: (story about 3/4 of the way down)

All I installed was the Daystar Spacers. 2.5", but it really looks like I have a 4" lift. I have a, uh, friend with a 2004 Chebby and he had it lifted and put these same tires on it. My front end sits higher than his. He is embarassed to park next to it. In fact, he dropped me off to pick mine up once it was done, and he pulled into the parking place next to it. When he noticed mine was taller, he parked further down while I was inside.:D
