Awesome Performance

I read many posts of bad performance and low shift points. I thought it was strange because stock my truck felt very powerful and very responsive. I even reved up to 4000 rpm's were it was posted that the tranny was tuned to shift at only 3000.

Well today it was confirmed that the truck is weird.

The dealer reflashed my computer bcecause I said oh boy it is a pig off the line very sluggish. So they updated the pcm.

Well I floored it off a light and the truck "leaps " I mean leaps off the light and revs to 5000 rpms before shifting.

Can it be that some trucks are somehow better performers than others? Obviously I mean totally stock.

Must be nice. Mine is about what you'd expect from a V6, but has some hesitation (and it sux). Other then that, it gets me from point "A" to point "B" in a hurry.

I dont have the answer to your question, but it seems like the flash worked for you.

I think these later pcm versions are better scuba. Both my 04's didnt idle very well and shifted at about 4700 under wot. My new '05 has NO lag in throttle and feels much peppier and shifts just past 5000 on wot. By George, I think they're gettin it!

My truck rocked right from the factory. It's a speed demon now with my superchips 1714 tuner...

I too had no problems with my truck from the factory. Didnt notice any hesitation or anything. The only thing I might could complain about was the downshifts under accelleration. They werent the best in the world. Now I have the 1714 and the shifts are excellent, and everything else just got better also. I think that is money well spent.

will the tuner make it better from the last reflash version. A noticable difference. It is not like I drive my truck hard. Will it mess up the smoothness.
