i have a question about the exhaust on my truck. i've been reading all those threads about the aftermarket exhaust and decided to get one. i have a 2004 F150 XLT Supercrew 5.4L; originally i thought i needed to order the 04 exhaust system from magnaflow, but then i read the threads about the trucks made after june 1 needs the 05 exhuast. so i checked the sticker on the side door and it clearly states the truck is made 06/04. from this point i figured i needed to order a 05 exhaust, but then i crawled under the truck and found that the pipe looks striaght, but does have a slight bend in a "s" shape. please take a look at my gallery and inform me on the correct exhaust.

on another note, what all changed from the 04's to the 05's. the dealer told me they were "exactly the same, nothing changed," but now i know the exhaust changed, does anyone know what else changed?

 

geeze...I dient know that the exhaust changed....are you sure? I wonder why the would do that....

 

The 04 sysytem will work on the 05's also you just have to cut the intermediate pipe. If its just a slight bend you are seeing it sounds like it may be the 04 version on your truck.

The pictures are a little too close up of the exhaust to tell for sure, but it looks like your truck was one of the last trucks to get the '04 exhaust. It looks to me like you have the old version of the exhaust from '04, and you can order any of the exhaust kits out there and install them most likely with no cutting. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Hope I could help!

 

Yep, your exhaust appears to be the initial pre-6/4 model so the Magnaflow #15834 (SIDO) would fit if you wanted the dual rear exit system for example.
