Angry Truck shut off at intersection

I was on my lunchbreak today and while sitting at a stoplight, a warning buzzer sounds and I notice the "check guages" is lit up, as well as the battery indicator.
So I look at the guages, and the oil-pressure guage is all the way down. So at this point, I'm about to **** a brick.
I then notice that the truck is shut off (music was playing so I couldn't hear it before) so I HOPE that's the only reason the oil pressure went down.
I throw it into park, start it back up, and after what sounded like some slight valvetrain noise, it ran and drove just fine. It made it 5 minutes back to work, and then 15 minutes for my drive home at the end of the day.

Has anyone had this happen to them? I know there are failsafes for low oilpressure and overheating to shut the engine off, but when I started it back up everything was perfect.

There is no MIL, but is it possible that the processor logged the code? I don't want to waste time taking it to the dealer only for them to tell me that they can't get it to do it for them.

Just looking for some opinions, thanks

-Drew

random stalling has been reported and if i am not mistaken take it to your loacal dealer and have the pcm reprogramed and it should solve this issue.

I've had mine stall under heavy breaking in the winter, with the ABS operating for about 10 seconds strait. Once I stopped, the truck shut down. I started it up, and it ran fine.

Could this be some kind of fail safe thing? Or a potential bug in the PCM program?

My dad's truck stalled at the light and he took it in and did work on his pcm and then it happened once again and they decided to replace the connectors on his pcm. It sounds to me as though it is computer. Take it in, and they'll get it done for ya.

It has to do with the drive by wire. Sometimes the PCM gets mixed signals that tell it the throttle is at idle when actually it's closed and the engine stalls. Normally, when a stall condition is sensed the PCM signals the throttle motor to open enough to prevent it from stalling. Sometimes a bad signal is sent and by the time the PCM gets the correct signal the engine has stalled out.

Reflash should fix it.
