Got a question about the back end Shudder and whining?

I'm taking my truck in this Tuesday for the back end Shudder as they told me they will replace my cluch packs for me. I also hear a whining though from the back end pretty much at all speeds....will replacing the cluch packs fix the whining as well?? Any help would be great!

It includes the entire rear axle assembly even including the rear disc brakes. I had just the ring and pinon changed and it did not work. I had to get the whole rear end changed and all is quiet after 6000 miles later. Hope yours works. Good luck

I had the shudder and the clutch packs didn't correct mine and they replaced the entire guts in the rear end. They told me they couldn't get the entire rear end for mine (3.73 LS , 9.75 gears). Mine had a very slight whine when it was going about 50 MPH with no load pulling or decelerating. After they replaced the inside of the rear, the shudder is completely gone but I still have the slight whine. Since is is slight only around 50 MPH, I think I will leave it alone and not bother with it unless it gets worse. I think the whine has always been there and I would not have known it except everything else is so quiet. My Escape has had the same whine since it was new and it now has 91,000 miles on it and it has not changed.

I had the whine.. ring and pinion was replaced. 5000 mi. it came back.
The entire axle assembly was replaced. Whine never totally went away. The dealer now says what I am hearing is "normal."
3.73 limited slip I will not get again.

I know of a person with a rear end whine at 65. Had to replace the whole axle to get rid of it.

My 03 Expy shuttered on take off and turning. Whined at 45. They replaced the clutch plates, but the whine remained at 45. It wasnt too bad though.

My 04 Lariat whines a little at 45 with no load on it. Havent yet figured what I'm going to do
