Ford finally admits vibration!!!!!!!

Just got a letter from Ford about my 2004 F150.

Due to vibration and harshness, they are extending the 12 month 12,000 mile tire warranty to 36/36,000.

I won my lemon law suit, but I thought everyone should know about this.

The letter said if you have any questions go to ownerconnection.com or call the customer relations line

At 4500 miles, I had extreme feathering on the outside edges of my front tires. If this would've happened after 12/12, I don't believe Ford would've paid for anything. After reading this letter, I'm of the opinion that they are extending this coverage to 36/36.

I don't believe I would be charged for the alignment and/or balancing until after 36/36.

I got the same letter with a sticker to update the tire warranty in the owners manual.

The main reason for posting this was to help those people that are starting their dsb and lemon law procedures. Not to debate the merits of a tire warranty.

Ford finally admitting this is a step in favor for those trying to prove the vehicle is defective. Generating 3 TSBs and re-writing your tire warranty is not usually done if the vehicle is performing as designed. This helps you prove your case (well at least it was significant in my board's opinion).

Not all trucks had the vibration issue....the problem varied per truck. From what I hear anyway.

I have had 0 problems with mine.

Adjustments, i.e. balancing, and replacement for root concerns of vibration or abnormal tire wear.

Ok, if this means that Ford is owning up to the vibe problem then doesn't it also mean that the tires are causing the vibe? I think there's a lot of folks on here that will tell you that their vibe can't be fixed by a new set of tires.
