1714 Tuner Question

Can you use this tuner on two seperate yet identical trucks? Also is there a better tuner that has been released as of yet? I have no mods on my truck as of yet but wish to add exhaust in the near future and lift it. Also might do a intake mod and pulleys.

Thanks

You can only install one tune on one truck at a time. Return the truck to stock, then move to another truck and you can install the tune.

As for a 'better' tuner, you can try out custom tunes with the Xcalibrator from Troyer. It maybe the right tuner for you since you plan on doing those other mods.

I've just been told the 1714 isn't ready for the '05 trucks yet. I can either wait, or get the xcalibrator. Gotta think about this for a bit.

Anybody live in the Austin area with this mod or an exhaust mod willing to take me on a test drive? Id like to ride and see how much the differance is as well as listen to a truck that has an aftermarket exhaust on. Thanks

I talked to a guy in colorado and he said that the tuners dont do much for this elevation, and he said that they were a waste of money. What do you think?

I think it's time to call Mike T and see what he says about an xcalibrator with custom tunes for high elelvations.

I just installed the Diablo Prediator. Very nice menu structure and it has the capability of upgrades over a PC vs sending it in. Here's my take on it (as far as waste of money). If you like to post on this forum of your "KILL for the day", this will help. It allows you to run a higher octane fuel and adjust shift point when at WOT. It also helps with the throttle lag that many on here post about. I am still running the 87 Octane, but going to try 91 (don't have 93 out west) when I empty my 37 gal tank. The Diablo also has OBDII diagnostics which you can use on muliple Ford vehicles, but the tuner is only for 1 vehicle at a time. I can see where some say its not worth the money, and for others why it's the rave. Your call, but I like mine so far. Oh ya my elevation is 3900 ft.
