Hiding wiring

Not sure if I should post here or under speaker forum. I figure the 04/05 may have wiring techniques that other body styles don't.
I've read how to get through firewall. Easy enough but my problem is hideing the inside wires.
I need to get wires from Head Unit to under passenger seat. I also need to get wires from under passenger's seat to rear seat subs.
It would be nice to run under carpet but not sure if this is easily done. All advise and links would be appreciated. I need to install, as I'm jonesing for tunes.

get yourself a spool of fish line (also known as a cable snake). It is a coil of thin, flat spring steel that stiff but flexible. Any hardware store or Lowe's, etc. should have them. Look in the electrical section. They are used primarily for pulling wires through walls, etc. Nothing works better. You'll have no problem running wires under the carpeting with one.

If you pull up the runners on either side of the carpet ( just held in there with clips) there are some nifty channels under there that will let you run your wiring any where you want it.

I ran my RCA's and Remote Turn on wire under the passenger side carpet, all the way to the back set in my 04 SuperCab. Let the wires come out where the seatbelt is anchored to the floor. The hole there is large enough for wires to fit through.

You can pull the carpet up a way on the passenger side to get it under the seat, then use the "fish wire" to pull it past the tubing (heater) under the seat, then thread it through to the back seat. Sounds complicated, but it's really a simple process.

Thanks! Never thought of removing channel edging.

coat hanger

An alternative to using a fish tape for short wire runs is to use a wire coat hanger which has been cut and straightened out. Be sure to make a small loop on the end you will be pushing into/under the area you wish to run your wires through. The loop will prevent the cut end from piercing anything and will aid you in guiding the hanger as you place it for pulling. Also tape up the loop completely with electrical tape this will prevent snagging and possibly damaging anything while you are using the coat hanger to fish your wires. For small tight spaces I have found the coat hanger is much easier to handle and guide because it can be easily formed and bent whereas a fish tape is very stiff and springy. Sorry for the long post.
