Superchips Tuner of Xcalibrator???

Hey all, I have a good question for everyone. As of now, I have the superchips tuner on my FX-4. My tax return is going to be really nice this year, and I was thinking of getting an Xcalibrator (keeping the 1714 for the diagnostics). I was just wondering if anyone has had both and if there was a noticeable difference between the two? Or is there anyone that has experience that can give me a good reason to get the Xcalibrator? I am looking for a little more power out of my truck, and was thinking this may be another ticket to a bit more power. Anyone with any suggestions or help please chime in and let me know. Thanks!

The Xcalibrator will give you approximately 50% more hp & torque over the 1714. Snoop around the “Chips & Programming” forum for a lot of detailed info on both products.

I may be wrong, but I don't think you can use the 1714 for diagnostics with the custom tunes installed via excalibrator.
There are other products available that will do that for ya though.

I have had both and all I can say is holy cow with the x-calibrator. I can lite up the tires on dry pavement with 35" tires and stock gearing. I plan to upgrade gears soon.

50% more hp than 20hp is 10 more hp. $400 for 10hp more seems a little steep to me.

it isnt just that, more TQ too, better air/fuel management, tuned for 93 octane instead of 91. Oh yeah.

Mine will be here next week.

So you get 20 more hp from a 1714. But if you went with an Xcalibrator ($25 more) you'd get a 50% increase OVER the 1714, meaning you'd increase 30hp from stock.
He ALREADY HAS a 1714 so he would be spending another $425 for 10hp more.

Nope. You get 3 tunes and if you have a different tire size you have to have that programmed into your tunes from the person making the tunes. If you change tire size after the fact, then you have to have more tunes programmed (at an additional charge I'm sure).

No, not a new charge I dont believe. If you purchase the software program you can have updates e-mailed to you. If they charge I am going to be PO'd.

The Excalibrator will be a far superior product to the 1714 and Diablo. the Diablo just has more OPTIONS to create a better tune. The Excalibrator is the whole package.

The advantage of the Xcalibrator tuned by Troyer Performance is you get an in-depth customized tune specifically for your trucks PCM code and most importantly, Mikes experience, 13 years plus with the F150 platform.
