Using the floor shifter to change gears

When racing why not use the floor shifter to shift. Wont this stop the pcm problem that people are having with the transmission shifting early.

Forgive me if it a stupid question but I was reading in the manual about manual shifting and the thought occured to me. I realy dont need it because my truck does not seem to have any performance issues that come up.

i dont think that you could do it as fast as a tuner and taking the truck out of overdrive.... probably wouldnt be the best thing for the tranny but i dont have any evidence or facts to back that up, just a personal opinion.

get the truck on a 1/4 mile track and see which will net better results....

I know after hammering my BMW like that for a month the tranny was jerking back in forth so I wouldn't recommend it!!

Not that I would but I was just wondering. I am into security and great sound. If I would start worrying about speed I would Just buy a mustang.

I don't know how much faster the rev limiter would let the engine turn beyond the point that the tranny shifts. I know the programmers i.e. superchips, diablo ect. give you the option to raise the rev limiter as well as change the shift points...Kevin
