The Biggest Bang Poll...

Got my stock 04 Supercrew Larait 4x4 7000 miles ago and have been reading all the threads but would like to poll every one on which aftermarket component gets you the best performance results... (within a reasonable $$$$ amount)

Exhaust
Air intake system
Aftermarket Tuner
Chip or reprogrammed or flashed???
etc.
etc.

Chip isn't available for these trucks.
I don't have it but wish I did and that's a tuner. Next mod for me.

have all 3

tuner hands down...only downside is running the 93 octane...but if you are going to spend $300 or $400 on a performance part - it should be worth $4 extra when you fill up - IMO

I second the vote for the tuner. You will see the biggest gain from this mod over the others. Of course the exhaust is nice too. Not a big performance gain, but the sound when you stomp the gas can't be touched by the factory pipes.

Tuner.
Not only is it the best bang for the buck performance-wise, but the other features make it worth the price even if it didn't add any horsepower.

I think youre gonna find the tuner is the winner hands down. The only other alternatives for more power than this starts to get really expensive, supercharger, turbo, nitrous etc. etc.. My vote is tuner.

PS There is one thing that can improve performance that only costs you labor time, that would be to start cutting weight off of your truck. Anything thats not neccessary, cut it off. Pieces of the frame, spare tire, all the tubing behind the muffler, the rear seats, bumpers... well you get the idea.

Tuner. I'm wondering if I really need an intake & exhaust now... can they really give me more 'oomph'?! This tuner rocks!!!

dzervit if you get an exhaust dont have it plumbed into your cab. Having it in your house was bad enough wasnt it?

Glad to hear you are all OK. Would have missed your wit.

Thumbs up

Superchips Microtuner. I like the transmission tuning. Hits the gears with a snap. No need for a Trans Go mod.
Extra power is noticeable in the Hi-Perf mode.

The majority of members here are overwhelmingly biased towards Mike Troyer and Superchips brand. I have a Diablo Predator tuner which I absolutely love.

I paid $350 for the Diablo including shipping. I don't know Mike's pricing but you can probably find out on his website.
