Question about online vendor

Has anyone here dealt with Best Darn Parts ?
I need to order some new Westin nerf Bars for my truck and they have the best price that I can find, especially with the free shipping. I just want to make sure I am dealing with a reputable company prior to ordering.

Does anyone know of any other vendors that may be able to beat this price...

Westin Platinum Series Nerf Bars for the 2004 F-150 SuperCab - $ 379.95 with free shipping.

These are what I currently have on my truck but were damaged in an accident so I need to replace them.

You can probably get those cheaper at a local dealer.
The place where I got my polished stainless steel ltd. lifetime warranty bars charged $249 plus tax and they included install. They loo just lie the westin bars. They wanted $349 installed for the westin chrome over stainless.

I have already checked with the locals here and the cheapest I can get them are $420, and they say that is thier cost (doubt that though).
The place I order them from last time has raised thier prices and now want $420 + shipping.

Yeah, I have dealt with bestdarnparts.com before. I was NOT very happy with them at all.

I gave them a couple of chances. The first thing I ordered was exactly what you are getting, but I got the black bars, a little cheaper. Anyway, I ordered them cause they had a good price, best I could find. So, needless to say, they when expected. I opened the box, which didnt look like it was packed good at all. Upon inspection, there was no installation hardware inside the box. The bars were all scratched up and damaged. So, I called them up, and they sent out another set. When I received this set, they were much better than the first, with a few minor scratches on them that I was willing to live with. So then, they said they would send out a shipping label for me to return the bars. Three weeks later, no shipping label, and my Credit Card got double charged from them. So I called them up, and they told me they sent out the label and cause I didnt send the bars back, they charged me for them. I told them I never recieved a label, which I didn't so they sent out a new one, which I got two days later, sent the bars back, and done with that experience.

So, I figured it was a one time thing, gave them another shot when getting Ventvisor for the wifey's car as an xmas present. Well, I ordered them three weeks before xmas, and guess what, they didnt come. I called them about 2 or 3 days before xmas to ask what was going on. They said they had to get back to me, and when they did, they told me they sent them to the wrong place, and they were going to overnight me another set to have them for xmas. Well, they showed up 3 days after xmas, and they were not sent overnight. So, after giving them some business, I have to say I will never order from them again. I have learned my lesson with truck parts, and also several PC parts, to stick with the reputable sites. I would rather know that I am getting something from a very good site and paying a little bit more, than ordering from a random site, and not knowing what I am going to get. My suggestion is to order them from somewhere else. But then again, you could have a perfect order go through for you, something I have not experienced from them yet.

I tell you what, if Troyer carried everything I wanted for my truck, (i.e. tires, rims, steps, anything) you bet you a$$ I would order from them, cause they have the best customer service that I have ever experienced. Hope I could help!

Thanks for your reply Roboots.
That is exactly the kind of thing I am worried about. Based on your reply, I think I am going to keep looking and bypass this company.

I haven't ordered from those guys, but a great place I've used, both for price and service is autocom.com. I got fender flares, a K&N Intake and leveling kit from them. Great service and the best prices I found for those items.

Good luck

This is the first time I've ever heard of Best Darn Parts. Nonetheless, I had a VERY good buying experience through ebay for my Westin (black) Signature Series step bars. The seller (LONGLEWISFORD) is actually a Ford dealership. It's worth sending him an email. Just contact him through one of his auctions and tell him exactly what you want (price + any S&H). It sounds like you want Westin 26-2350 (chromed stainless) or 26-2355 (black stainless).
