Bolt Over Carriage Works Help...
I just got my carriage works 7 piece bolt over grill and was starting to install the bottom piece (hard to get the tab and nut on from the back). My question is for anyone who has done this is do you just start cranking on the loc-nut and soc head cap screw until it starts to go on or what?...The nut went on a little ways and then just stopped. I'm guessing that at this point you just have to start tightening harder. It was hard to see, so I didn't want to get the nut started wrong and strip the threads. That's what it felt like when the nut stopped after a few twists. I'm guessing that plastic inside the nut will lock as you start to tighten. I just didn't want to bust or strip anything right off, so I thought I would come here for some advise from people that have put these things on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Also....once those loc-nuts are tightened, will they come loose if you need to take off a piece for some reason, or are they on for good?

Nut inserts are for locking effect. Need to use two wrenchs to run nut entire length. Yes nuts will loosen up if needed for removal. I personally lost some knuckle skin and cursed a few times installing mine. Small cooler is smack dap in the place you want to put your arm.
Yes the nylock nuts are tight once you hit the nylon part. It is a pain to get the bumper insert on. I found it easier to pop off the flexible rubber shield and install the nuts from the bottom. The little plastic plugs wull pop right back into their holes to reinstall the shield.
Yes you will be able to remove the nuts if you decide to take off the billet grille. The nylon just makes it so it will not back out on it's own. They will be just as tight to remove as put on.
