I'm fed up!

And I don't know what I can do....

I am still having what seems to be transmission problems, but of course the dealer is unable to find anything wrong. To be honest, I don't think they even tried....they felt all it needed was a reflash...but I am still getting a slip when taking off. The colder it is outside the worse it gets and the longer it lasts. I've had transmission issues since day one (even before I had to have a new motor put in it with 2k miles). It has overheated on me, and I have had to pull of the side of the expressway and shut the truck off and restart it. Again..the dealer could find nothing wrong with it because it is intermittent.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't think I have a strong enough case for the lemon law. I just want out of this truck...and maybe into another F150....but I am starting to get bitter.

First of all, shame on you for even keeping a NEW vehicle that had
it's engine pulled at 2k. If an engine needs replacing after 2k miles
that vehicle is ng. You should have demanded a NEW truck. But
that of course is hindsight since you obviously are still driving it. If
you really want out, try a gallon of gas and a match.. or leave it
for some scrub to steal then have the insurance co make the dealer fix it after recovery OR find a new dealer that has respect for itself and its customers and takes pride in its rep and fixes it for you OR find that forementioned new dealer then take the
forementioned gallon of gas to the desk of the service dept of the
dealer that's NOT helping you... BUT to get back to your initial
statement you do in fact have enough of a case for the lemon law if the dealer is unsuccessful in making it right ..... GO GET 'EM.
DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER --- MAKE THEM MAKE IT RIGHT..
also call your local news stations investigation unit and get them some really bad publicity about their slacker ways.... i could go on.
e:mail me and i'll give you some really indignant ways to make
people pay for their disrespect... i'm good at it and i ALWAYS get my way when it comes to making people pay for their actions..

the slip at startup sounds like the slip yoke needing lubrication.

There is a TSB for this. It's possible your dealer hasnt been looking in the right area. Do a search of this forum for slip-yoke and rear end/drivetrain/driveshaft thunk

I have no idea about the overheating. Did it truly overheat (you saw the steam) or did the guage go wacky and the truck shut down? This engine has a lot of failsafes (more than Chev or Dodge) that shut it down if it THINKS something is wrong. Maybe there is a bad sensor/sending unit.

Maybe you could also talk to an independant mechanic who would approach this with fresh set of eyes. Get his opinion and pay for his opinion. Then ask the dealer to look at those things and have them fixed under warranty.

Good Luck. Dont give up yet. The solution is just around the corner.

To throw another idea out there for you...it could also be in the rear end your feeling the slipage in. My truck did the same thing and it turned out to be the clutch pack in the Limited Slip. It would deffently get worse as it got colder. At first I thought it was the transmission too, then I posted on here what it was doing and was told about the LS problem. There is a TSB for that as well.
