Whistle resonance while accelerating

It was -3'f here in Ma this morning. Coldest to date for my F-150. As I was accelerating I heard a higher pitched frequency. It was a pretty loud resonance sounding as if it was coming from the dash. Could be engine, I’m not sure. The frequency was close to what a wet glass would sound like when you rub it. It only happened between 40 to 50mph and only during a mild acceleration. It was still happening after 30 min of driving. Anyone have a clue?

Nothing’s going to sound right in 3° weather. It could be the serpentine belt or any of the pulleys; (alternator, water pump, etc.) if it still does it when the temp. warms up you might have a problem.

Screech!
I believe it's the power steering pump, all my Fords screamed at me in the extreme cold. Especially my Ranger. Between the PS pump and the throwout bearing, It sounded like a cat fight until things loosened up. just my 2 cents.

Its probably just your air intake as mine whistles all the time whenever i step on the gas....but its because i have the air raid throttle body spacer installed. I hardly notice it now though, but when i first put it on i was ready to rip it out the same day.

As for cold weather, i wont even bother talkin about that.
Later Trev
P.S. Good thing my truck starts on the first try even when its minus 35 celcious. Thank god my car starter is workin now or i would have to break down and clean out my garage and make room for my truck.
