fx4 tiedown?'s

does anyone know the actual rating of the metal tiedowns in the bed and are the reinforced from behind the bed wall? also how about the strength of the 6 tie downs on the top of the bed? want to make sure a 600lb vmax will be ok? never really got a definate answer from before and i am getting ready to move the bike to get the valves done.....thanks.

They will easily hold your VMAX. I tie all my toys in using the tie downs (Arctic Cat F7) . The sled doesn't eactly roll around either. It just kind of sits there. 2 tie down straps on the rear bumper of the sled are your good to go!

it is a vmax motorcycle not a sled....sorry, should have verified that. it does look like both the upper (on the rail) and the lower in the bed have metal reiforcements behind the bolt and nuts. would like to get a more official statement on the strenght though! thanks.

Youll be fine using the metal tie downs inside the bed. I have tied both my motorcycles in my bed at the same time using the same two tie downs in the bed with no problems ever. I would however opt for the metal tie downs inside the bed over the plastic ones on the side, and I also have both on my flareside.

I've hauled my zx-12r thousands of miles. Your Vmax will be fine.

A couple notes:

1) She won't fit with the tail gate up. My bike is about 2" too long with the 6.5' bed. Not long enough to rest on the tailgate and keep it from bouncing. Too long to put the gate up. I remove the tailgate.

2) Watch your front fender. If I don't chock in front of the front tire, my fender will hit the lip on the top of the bed (under the back window).

3) I use a Canyon Dancer on front and the rear peg mounts on the back with ratchet straps on the four corner tie downs.

4) Line your tires up in the bed grooves and once tied down, she won't go anywhere.

Ive put 3 bikes in the back of mine, the CRF250 in my signature, a YZ125, and DRZ110 and they were fine.

Just use the metal hooks inside the bed, I really wouldnt trust plastic..but thats just me.
