Headlights with lift

I wanted to see how many people have adjusted their headlights with their 6 in lift. For the most part I am happy with the performance of my headlights but I do not believe the headlights were adjusted. I just put Silverstars in the driving lights and those are awesome. On my drive back from Breckenridge Friday night I had at least a dozen people flash their lights on both sides of road. On a side note I bought a set of Sylvania XVs but am not sure if that will be way too bright. I have never owned a lifted truck so this is new to me.

Hey do A search and you will find how to adjust the headlights and other people who have had this problem. Its a simple screw at the top of the light fixture, no side to side adjustment. Good luck

I adjusted mine to face as far down as the adjustment allows. I don't get to many people flashing me oncoming but people I am following sure don't like me unless I am at least 5 or 6 car lengths behind them.

Adjust them down to suit your needs. You can do this on a lonely flat road at night or by using a wall at night.

Where did you get the silverstars? I thought our lights are 9008 which is not available?

I only put Silverstars in the driving lamps and I did not have to trim anything. I bought Sylvania XV lamps for the headlamps and got those at Pep Boys.

Aiming Headlights

1.) Begin by finding a level surface and a vertical garage door or wall. Park the vehicle close to the wall and mark the lights' horizontal centerlines with masking tape.

2.) Next, mark the low beams' vertical centerlines. For better precision, stand behind the car at its center point and, looking through the back window, guide a helper in marking vertical dead center. Marking the vehicle's centerline is also helpful to verify side-to-side alignment. (which we cannot change on the F150, if I am correct)

3.) Park the vehicle on a flat surface 25 feet away from the wall, pointing straight ahead. Use the lights' horizontal-(not f150) and vertical-adjusting screws to position the low beams' intensity zones two inches below and to the right of the taped centerlines.

That's it! These directions are similar to some I've followed before, but I copy/pasted them off of advancedautoparts.com

I also purchased the SilverStars and they went right into the fog light housing. No trimming involved. They are nice and tight and like I said before, went in without a hitch.
