Question Outside Temperature gauge

My outsie temp gauge went wacky. Reading about 10 degrees
celcius higher than normal. Is there a reset or anything? Does
anyone know where the sensor is? Thanks.

Sometimes if I park the truck for 10-30 minutes and then get back in, the temp gauge will read high until I get moving again. Also, parking the truck in the sunshine can cause the temp gauge to read high for a few minutes. Once you get moving for a bit with the outside air moving over the truck, the temp gauge adjusts and is more accurate.

The sensor is right in front of the radiator. On the same metal support that the air bag sensor is on. So if you're sitting still or have just cranked up the truck, it's going to read a little higher. As long as you're moving and have fresh air hitting it, the temp should read correctly.

Question

My 2004 FX4 just started doing the same thing. Did you ever figure out what is wrong?

This happened to me last year. I took it in under warranty and they re-flashed it. It still seems fine now.

MIne went yacky last year. They first did a reflash but it didn't fix it. They replaced the sensor (took about a minute)
