Magnetic Antenna

Anybody have any long term problems with maagnetic xm/serious Antennas. Like paint damage especially on hot hot days?

I made sure I heavily waxed the area where the antenna would sit before I mounted it. I haven't had any problems on my old truck or this one - over two years now.

You could always put a piece of sticker that has the same form as the antenna base. Stick it on your roof or wherever you want to install the antenna and when you uninstall it you just peel the sticker from your roof and you are good to go with probably just a quick waxing on the area.

I am always leary about putting anything on a painted surface. Nobody has problems in car washes right. They always have that sign that says we are not resposible for any anyennas.

I know a number of people who regularly use carwashes, and the antenna does not move.

My best advice is to wax under the antenna when you wax the truck (assuming it is waxed on a somewhat regular basis) and put some extra wax in that area.
