Make your own like me...roughly $400 for 2 10w3v2s and a custom box for under the rear seat. IT WILL SOUND WAY BETTER FOR CHEAPER!

Curious, where would you put the amps?

I've made a custom box to fit 1 12" under the passenger seat. I initially wanted 2 12's (on on each side) but the installers insisted not to mount the 2 amps behind the rear seat for 2 reasons:

1) they did not want to hassle to take off the rear seat...I thought of it as lazyness, but they also said it was a big PITA as well as them not wanting to break certain pieces that had to be done to get the seat off

2) they insisted the amps be somewhat easy accessable in case of damage or adjustment.

Also, is the box you've made for a supecrew..or supercab? Would you say 2 10's would hit harder than a single 12?

there are others that make a "stealthbox" for our trucks. You can buy one of these boxes for around 100 dollars and get urself a JL 10w3v2 for much cheaper than JL is selling it all for or you can pay for the brand name.

I did mount my amp behind my seat and once you know what to do it isnt that bad. I had it off in about 10 minutes and mounted my 500.1 nice and clean back there. I originally had it under the front passanger seat but I felt it was too easy to steal there. As far as adjusting, I just did my tuning when it was under the front seat.

1) It was just lazyness. It is a hassle to get the seat out the first time but there is NOTHING you could possible break trying to take the seat out (if you even have a slight idea about how to do it.) It looks like these guys would learn how to do it since I am sure that you won't be the only F150 they ever do an install on. Unfortunaltly when you pay someone to do your install they will often cut corners and take the "easy" way out.

2) If when you take the seat out you zip tie the lock tabs (or like I did just cut them off) you can gain acess to your amps in about 5min...all you have to do is take off the two 10mm bolts that hold the seatbelt thing down and then pull the seat out. With the seat belt thing bolted down the seat is not going anywhere even without those little plastic PIA tabs.

I would say the 2 10s would hit harder (assuming they are of equal quality)....2 10s have 20ins of speaker surface area and the 1 12 would only have 12in.

Huh...must be new math for calculating surface area...some kind of sigular dimensional area......lol.....back when I was in school surface area was pi*r^2

Meaning that the ratio wouldn't be 12:20, more like 113:157 so the 2x10's have 30% more surface area then the 12 instead of 40%.

Ya, i figured...pisses me off some. Right now I'm running a single ARC audio 12" D4 series. I initially wanted 2 JL10w3v2's but they gave me the whole seat story.
