Question Water on back seat!

Hey everyone! I was reading with interest today about other f150 owners with water on their back seat, from the poor seal around the high level brake light on their 04's. Anyone living in SoCal this week will know we have had rather a lot of rain recently (18 inch in 2 weeks, sun please come back) anyway thought it would be a great time to check if I was having the same problem. Guess what I found tonight after my truck has been parked in the drive all day with the rain pounding down on it, A WET BACK SEAT! Now I hope the dealer will fix this at no charge, they should right? The truck has 5500 miles on it. On a point of second note, does anyone else have a problem with the ashtray rattle? I don't smoke, and I drive with it open which stops it somewhat. With the truck being so quite it is very anoying. The only mod I have so far is I put a 2" level kit on it, it gives my 04 Lariat 4x4 a nice level look. Great site, thanks for any input.

First and foremost welcome, and post some pics for us.

As for the problems take your truck to the dealership and have them fix them as they are covered under warrenty.

If you do a search you will see a few people have mentioned these problems before.

Later Trev

I had a similiar problem here in Maryland. Two things were different.

1. It was a light drizzle that lasted overnight.

2. The moron owner of the truck...left the back window open.

It was really weird. I'm in a dead sleep. I sort of come to around 4-5ish and **pop in the head** "Oh crap I left my back window open". Weird how the brain works.

I'm at my truck in a robe, cowboy boots, baseball cap, and a towel drying my back seat at 4-5 am.

I'm calling Ford and complaining.....they should have some safety button that automatically figures out it is raining, the windows is open, and the owner is an absent minded goof.

Sorry to hear that bro...luckily I caught mine before the rain about 2 months ago. I noticed mine leaked from morning dew on the roof. Went to Ford, they replaced the whole assembly just because they said they might as well...its not like the dealer has to pay for it themselves. New seal and assembly...NO LEAKS...

I live in NorCal. Its been rainy here and Ive hit the Sierras a couple times in the last month...still no leaks.
