I was coming home from the store, and was at the light minding my own business (dont we all )

Alongside comes a Silverado Z71, with duals out by the tires. I take off normal, and I look back in the mirror at hes at my rear bumper. Then I hear his exhaust, and see him coming up in my mirror so I mat it. Dropped into 1st, stopped him from pulling, and was dropping him back to about a car length back!

He wouldnt look over or anything, no thumbs up or nothing. We get to the next light so I figure hes done. This time he SQUEELS away from the light, so I mat it again, with him already a car ahead. I pull even, and begin walking him before I shut down.

Dont know what he had, but he ate some FX4 dust!

 

Man some peoples kids. Good kill man.

 

Funny. My buddy just got a crewcab GMC Z71 5.3 He then put a aem cold intake and superchips. I just have superchips waiting on exhaust and intake. He's been talking sh!!t for the last couple of weeks, saying why didn't I buy a real truck, and he can smoke me blah blah blah. So Saturday I had enough I said lets get it on. First drag he was 2 truck lengths behind in quarter mile not scientific. So 2nd drag same thing. He was just about crying. I love it. My truck 5.4 screw 3.55ls lariat only mod superchips.

they musta done something special to that 05 ford. My 04 wont walk a chevy anything. I test drove both of em before i bought and the chevy(pretty much anything can tear my truck up cept another ford) woulda tore my ford up something fierce. Perhaps cuz it was a chevy crew cab? Anyways, sounds like u have a good performing truck, if its stock congrats on your goodluck.

Does your 05 have any throttle lag or did they fix that in the computer in the new trucks??

I've driven all kinds of 60's-early 70's muscle cars (GM & Mopar) and I got that out of my system....I hope

I just let them go. Back in the mid 70's I almost lost my drivers license and my car for drag racing.

Test driving both of them doesn't really tell you which is quickest. There's many posts about how deceiving the speed on these new Fords are. The Chevy seems fast because of all the noise and vibrations. Of all the reviews (outside this site) I've read...the Chevy had the slowest 1/4 mile times.

Persoanlly I think the Dodge boys are worse than the Chevy owners. Every other Dodge pick up I see on the road wants to play games. Most have 4"-6"" duals sticking out from under the rear bumper and blah,blah,blah.
The 01 SCrew I sold before I bought the 04 SCrew outran most I encountered. I have not played with the 04SCrew yet, but now that I have the X-Calibrator tune in it I am sure that day is not too far off.
I was driving home from Mike Troyers place in Virginia in my Cobra
(11.60's car) and while tooling along in West Virginia some good old Dodge boy in a new Hemi actually kept pulling up beside me then falling back and pulling back up again. I guess he was just testing me to see what I would do because he had to know that he didn't stand a chance. I slowly sped up until I reached about 95 or so so he could stay beside me. I could see the smile on his face while he was talking to his girly friend, so at about 100 I hammered the Cobra and watched his chin drop as the *** end of the Cobra squatted and left him like he was standing still. I did slow back down so he could catch up again but he would not look at me. WHAT could he have been thinking????

 

Im not to sure why but no one ever tries to do that to me....

Especially now that i have the windows all tinted 5% front and blacked out rears.

It also might be because i never stick around long enough for them to even try.

I feel pretty sure that adding superchips will help a lot here. I have not raced a Chebby in a while, but I think after adding the chip, it would probably do pretty well against the Z71.

Good kill man. The Chevy guy should've known better though.

As a Chevy driver I can definitely tell you that the Dodge drivers are the absolute worst when it comes to them trying to prove something. They are also always the ones who want to race, tailgate, cut in and out...and just plain act stupid.

My old 93 isnt going to win many races...and thats fine with me. With 266,000 miles on the clock, she still runs pretty damn strong and does what I need to do. It aint as pretty and powerful as a new truck, but hey, ITS PAID FOR!
