Destroyed shock

Well I managed to destroy a shock today. Hit something in the road, I think a piece of brake pad off an 18 wheeler. Hit it with the front tire, no damage there that I have seen yet, and it kicked back and hit the lower half of the rear shock on the driver side. It put in one dent at the top of the lower half and dented and cut into the bottom of the lower hal. I can't believe a shock has that much oil in it. It sprayed all over that side of the bottom of the truck and the air even blew it onto the tailgate and rear bumper.
As stiff as the rear springs are it hasn't made a big difference in the ride. i can feel that it seems a bit sloppier/softer, but so far no big deal.
Unfortunately the only place I found to get a pair of rear shocks quick is the dealer. Hope to have them tomorrow. Not too bad on the price. $45 each.
Well I know what I will be doing this weekend if they come in.

Don't buy crappy shocks from the dealer. Those $45 OEM shocks are just $20 Gabriels. At least spring for Monroe, Reflex for cruising or Magnums for heavy loads.

I would buy Bilsteins, except I can't get them in less than a week. Doesn't feel real bad with no left rear shock, but I don't want to get into a situation where I have to manuever quick and find it won't.
Better the cheap shock now and put Bilsteins all the way around later.

Kingfish,
I have a pair of rear OEM shocks you can have for FREE if you want to pay the shipping. Took them off an 'O4 lariat 4x4 screw with 3,500 miles on them and installed bilstiens. I almost threw them away once after I saw them going for less than $10/pair on ebay. anyway their yours if you want em,, email me if your interested.

Thanks for the response, unfortunately, it would probably take too long to get her. The dealer is suposed to have the new ones today. Also I believe the shocks are different between the Lariat and FX4. For the part they did have to look up for an extended cab FX4 145" wheelbase.
Again, thanks for the offer.
