Truck Finaly Runs Great

I have an 04 F150 XLT SCREW and after reading these posts and owning my truck for close to 8 mounth it finaly runs great. All it took was to quit reading all of the negative posts in here and all the things I thought i felt (vibe), heard or slightly noticed went away. I'm not saying that this is a bad site at all. I just think alot of people here do alot of complaining and if you come here just to read and all you read are complaints and problems it doesnt make it easy to enjoy these great trucks. I have alot of friends and relatives that own these trucks and dont know about this site and guess what not one complaint or problem from any of them. I'm not going to ruin that by telling them about this site. I do think though that if you have a problem or a question this site is a great resource. Hope i didn't **** to many people off. Just my 2 cents

I respectfully disagree. If it wasn't for some people on this board I would still be riding around in a vibrating truck. Ford told me they would do nothing more to resolve the vibration issue after several attempts to fix the issue, so I engaged the DSB.
My 2004 F150 truck has since been replaced by the DSB with a new non-vibrating 2005 Lariat.

This board is a wealth of information. We pay good money for these trucks and these types of issues are not suppose to be a feature or tolerable.

MHP ... I agree with you for the most part but PALongbow makes a good point. It's nice to know that there are people out there with the same problem and can share information. This vibe issue must be real, I don't think Ford would be buying back trucks if it weren't.

Yes, there are those that blow things out of proportion and expect every single mass produced vehicle to be perfect but I don't let that bother me. I have 10K on mine and it's been in once for warranty work and I have a very small list of minor things that it will go in again for. Still, this is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned and I will not complain about it. I don't expect perfection but I do expect the dealers to handle problems promptly when they come up.

I never heard or knew of the "vibe" issue until I joined this site and after reading so many post regarding the matter I must admit I started getting a little nervous about when my truck was going to start.

It hasn't and I have no reason to believe that it ever will. No sense fretting about it.

Another thing I've learned about this site is it is full of F-150 enthusiasts like me. I've learned a bunch of stuff I never knew, ie."what the heck do you do with a clay bar"? I see mods on others trucks that aid in my decision on whether to get it or not. If I have a question concerning my truck I know I can search and usually get an answer or ask the question. I know I can also get a good laugh or two a few times a day.

Bottom line is I encourage my Ford driving friends to check this site out. It's a fantastic resource filled with a lot of great looking trucks with some knowledgable, interesting, and pretty humorous members.

I kinda sorta agree. I think Ford has created their own monster. They made the quietest and smoothest truck (when everything is right) and advertised it that way. The traditional noises and vibrations we have taken for granted in trucks for the last 30 or 40 years that were drowned out by traditional trucks are now obvious due to the improvements Ford has made. The whines, growls, grunts and groans I have always taken for granted in my old Dodges, Toyotas, Chevys and Fords would never be tolerated in my new truck. Ford has raised the standard as to what is acceptable. Have you noticed how much louder you have to play the radio in most other trucks or SUVs to hear it clearly as compared to the F150?

osbornk, Great point. MHP, you've got a good point too. I think the person who complained about how the plastic on his keys was wearing about takes the cake.

With anything that even might be wrong with my 04, it's light years ahead of the other brands.

Like I said this is a great site if you need to solve a problem. Myself I just need to refrain from reading about others problems just to read them. It's also great for new Mod ideas. As far as these trucks go they are great. I had to take my sons ford ranger in for an alignment this weekend, its lifted with 31" tires, boy did that trip make me really apprciate the ride in my F150. That ranger likes to beat me to death. I still have to say now that iI quit reading about the VIBE all the time I really enjoy my truck and am not constantly in a state of worry about it showing up in my truck. I am gratefull that this site is here for me if I should have a problem to research though.
