Cab space STD Cab

I have a Regular cab 99 F150. Well I did until I was rear ended and its totaled now.

Really cant afford an extended cab right now but was wondering if the new body style picked up some cab space over the 97-up style.

Thanks

Chris

Yes, quite a bit of space.

I have the 04 standard cab short bed and it has plenty of space behind the seat for groceries, luggage. etc. It eliminates the need for an extended cab if you don't need to haul people. I bought the cargo organizer from Ford that fits behind the seat so stuff doesn't slide around and get under the seats. (fordgenuineaccessories.com). The truck was thousands less than the supercab and had a better rebate. My loaded XLT 4X4 stickered for over $31,000 and I paid $22,500.

I originally didnt see a use for the space and extra doors on a single cab at first but it really does make sense now! Especially with my sub. I have an audiobahn that I had in my old car that I know wouldnt fit in any other reg cab and I would have to be pretty creative to even fit it in a scab or screw considering there isnt any open space like in the reg cab. Even still though I have room to lug groceries home for my parents and everything. (which the door comes in handy so you dont smash everything)

My standard cab STX has plenty of room, even after I tossed a small single sub box back there. Room for my wife's 'back-pack' purse, a couple of coats, etc. without crushing anything. Unless you put more than three people in the truck, you don't need more than the reg cab. Also, you can reach the sliding rear window while driving, if you want.
Works well.

With the cargo organizer, the mounting hardware and instructions would have ruined the carpet and taken some time so I improvised in case I wanted to remove it later. Since there is very little pressure (it almost sits there on its own),, I used 4 large self tapping screws to mount it to the floor. The small holes won't show in the carpet and it took about 5 minutes with a drill.

I have a 04 reg cab 4x4 long box xlt. I also owned a 97 f-150. Thier is more room behind the seat in the 04, but you will find ford took away the 97 leg room for driver/pass.

I'm 6ft4 and my right foot has to pivit on a angel to reach the gas peadel, If your not as tall as myself, you will be at home in a 04/05 f-150.

on the 04, the door pannels and latchs are higer up than on the 97, just a small pet peave on a excellant truck.

I can never I can never have just enough room, thats why thiers a 8 ft box behind me..

I'm about a half inch shorter than you, lonnie brown, but have plenty of room in this truck.
Guess it's my short legs.
I do feel for you; in gas savers, I can't drive most imports, car or truck, lack of headroom.
I always look at Toy, Honda, etc, always buy Suzuki, becase they are the only car maker that knows some folks are taller than 5'10.
