Arrow Oil capacity of 5.4L

Whats the oil capacity of the new 5.4L? Im going to get my oil ready ahead of time for when I change it at 2000 miles. Dealer will change it at about 500-600 miles during break in.

I will be using Mobil 1 anyhow.

Manual says 7 quarts for the 04 5.4. Sure the 05 is the same.

Yep, its 7qts.

Be ready to pull the wallet out. It shocked me, 7 qts of synthblend was almost $33.

I guess you pay to play.

I pay 40$ for an Amsoil oil change on my Regal GS, so the same amount for Mobil 1 + filter on the F150 isnt too bad.

It costs me $8.00 a quart for Mobile 1 MX4T for my bike, it hold three quarts, so the price of Mobil synthetic for the truck was actually kind of nice.

How long before the 1st oil change

Bought a new 04 XLT in October. How long have most of you folks gone before the 1st oil change. I have about 2400 miles right now.

Also, in reviewing the owners manual it mentioned that Ford now uses a synthetic blend by Motorcraft. Is that correct ?

While it's still recommended at 3000, I'll always change the oil early the first time. In fact, I changed at 2000 just a week or so ago. It'll be 3500 from here on out.

As per the owners manual fluid refill capacities chart:
4.6L engine takes 6 quarts of oil.
5.4L engine takes 7 quarts of oil.

Yes sir. Mobil 1 Five Quart Jug is $19.64

If you really want the Motorcrap brand, it's $1.19 per quart.

If you want to buy the individual quarts of Mobil 1, they're about $4.74 a quart.

I just bought a slew of the 5 Quart Mobil 1 jugs, and measure it out. The empties make a great storage place for the used oil that way too.
