Hi

If you bought it new and your state requires one, go to the dealer and ask them where the required equipment is. Dealer should give you one free of charge and install it.

Mine didn't either... I demanded that the dealership order one as it SHOULD come with one... they took care of it.

Believe it or not its part of the equipment package. I had this discussion with my dealer today about me not having a front license plate bracket. It wasn't on my truck and they told me that it was not part of my equipment package. I looked and sure enough it was listed on my FX4 but not my Lariat.

that is too funny - that is always one of the first things that i take off any new vehicle.

it is only on my new f150 still - because there is a gaping hole there - and it offers sime minimal protection for the coolers.

as soon as i can get a real grill for that area - mine is off and into the trash.

I am not giving anyone s$#t for taking the plate off or not putting it on but in Missouri if you get 3 tickets for the samething it is what the State considers non compliance and after the third ticket you will receive a letter from the Dept of Revenue to report to the nearest Highway Patrol headquarters and if the problem is not corrected your license will be Suspended.

Like I said not giving anyone hell just making idle conversation.

Some states such as PA do not require a front licence plate.

CA certainly does require it - and tickets are written - however it is pretty rare - it is really a nit picking thing to write someone up for - especially with all the loonies we have on the roads here.

The only time when you get a ticket in CA for no front plates or for tinted windows is when you get a bored cop - or one that has been slacking on his ticket writing, and the end of the month is nearing.

Now in CA they also make you pay the full fine - even on fix it tickets.

Too True, Kirkb. My wife has a perscription that allows her to have tinted windows, but we have never had to show it to a cop. My sister has been stopped in my neighborhood twice and had to peel her windows, both times. Different cops, no particular reason they stop her wint her mildly tinted windows, ignore my wife's caddys limousine tint.
If you have to take off window tint, I find a hand steamer, for steaming cloths on a trip, works great for removing the film.

Then she puts it back on. You need it here in the desert, and every cop I know has heavily tinted windows.

It might be a "nit picking" thing in California, but with my luck, the minute i take it off i will see a red and blue flashing light in my rear view mirror.
