Sirius Installation done
Finished installing my Christmas present .. Sirius Roadster, very nice unit. I did it all by myself in about 2 hours. What takes longer is just trying to hide the two cables (power and antena). I am going to love this thing, all kinds of music at your fingerprints
Sounds is very good except maybe on some oldies stations (those sound like radio or little less quality maybe). All the other station I will rate them as below CD quality and maybe a bit better than radio.
I do have one question: For now I am using the cigarette lighter plug for power ... Does the 6CD factory radio (non audiophile) has a 12V aux power that I can use? If not, I guess later I will re-wire it direct to a 12V source. Any thoughts?
Check out my updated gallery for pics of the location I selected

Burn a record to a cd, it's still gonna sound like a record.
Congrats on the install, you'll learn very soon that you can't live without satellite radio.
There's no aux power that I know of on the radio, aside from tapping into the ignition switched 12v line that goes into the stereo. That's what I used.

Thanks ... I just went around town with the family ..very nice!...
On the 12V, I though that is what I need to do, the ignition.
Thanks again

Chinin,
I think it is pretty neat that you installed the unit in your overhead console. Is it hard to see or use it up there? I would be scared that it would be too much of a distraction way up there.
I have installed something similiar, but on the xm side of the fence (SKYFI 2)
Pro-fit makes a swiveling mount made for our f-150's that mounts just right of the radio. The mount is made to mount xm/sirius radios. It looks factory and the wires are hidden.

Lookin' good!

UPDATE on installation and added info...
OK guys and girls ... I relocated the Sirius unit to the dash .. Check out my latest pictures in the Interior Mod folder.
KC8FLB, you are correct, when I was driving in town it was too much of a hassel and distraction trying to change the channels up there ... so, I eliminated the coin holder on my dash (where the 4x4 **** is on the 4x4 trucks) and installed the mounting bracket/docking that came in the package. Much Much better !
Ostuni, to answer some of you questions, I decided on Sirius because it has the NFL games, it gives you internet music access (for when I am in my office), and I like the Sporsters unit because it has the FM modulator integrated (no separate unit). Also the sporsters has a line line out that I may use one day (not sure if the others do). Also, it was 99.99 after $30 rebate and it came with everything you need to install it, including antenna, mounting bracket/docking, etc. Probably the #1 reason is - My wife bought it for my as a Christmas present
As an added note, I change the FM radio station from 88.1 to 93.9, there is a 88.4 local station, I think it was interferencing.
Now the sound good better.
Ready to go around town again ...
