Bed Light

I just had my Snug lid installed on my 04 150. Who has wired lighting inside the bed ? Ford needs to put some lighting recesses in the bed panels, switched from the interior.

I have a light in my truck cap. When the cap was installed, they pulled the power for it off the parking lights. You had to have them on for the switch on the light to do anything. I grew tired of that real quick, and tapped into my dome light circuit where the wire runs through the back driver's side cab pillar. Yours may be different. Now the light turns on whenever the cab lights are on (with switch, or on entry/exit). Very nice.

Now the 'ideal' thing to do would be to run a fused, constant 12v from the battery to the light and a relay, and tap into the dome circuit only to trigger the relay. That would let you avoid any current draw overloads on your interior wiring harnesses, but I'm lazy and a couple watt little dome light won't draw enough to worry me. That's how you'd do it 'right' though...

as for finding an actual light fixture, you're on your own there; mine was included.

Also you could find one of those little battery powered magnetic backed tap lights (push it to turn on/off)

That's actually a great idea for a mod... hmm...
