Mine is in a dealer but came to find out you have to order a seperate Wire harness and instructions.

These two items are on the way now. Once it is all here I'll post info on install and performance.

My phone has bluetooth. Is that what we're talking about here?
Would love to have a hookup for that!

This is a Ford Bluetooth car kit. It is called "Mobile Ease"

It uses a control panel, & microphone and connects to your factory audio system.

Leave phone in pocket.

When a call comes in you push button on dash. Stereo is muted and caller voice comes through stereo system. You talk into microphone mounted on sun visor.

You can also do voice dialing.

It is a gloryfied hands free system.

I personally don't think I would spend an additional dime on anything that is related to a cell phone, for easier use in a truck or car. I mean come now, what else could you possibly need your hands free for while talking on the phone, reading a book or newspaper of something??? If your phone call is that damn important that you need to buy accessories for it, then you should think about leaving it at home, or pulling off to the side of the road if necessary to take your calls.
The most agrivating thing to me while driving is getting behind some nit wit talking on their cell phone, bobbing their head around like the person on the other end can see them or something, and not paying attention to what they should be doing. DRIVE YOUR F-----G CAR A$$HOLE!!!!
Just my opinion so don't take it personal..

I agree with Marc. Its a car, not a phonebooth. But, I guess everyone is gonna do it anyways, so might as well make it a little safer for people who use cars to drive not as phonebooths. One less thing they will be playing with.

A. Hands free are required in some states.
B. I don't think talking on the phone is any more distracting than talking to someone sitting next to you.
As for me, I wish I had the luxury (time) of just "pulling off", or making all my calls at home. No can do. The most distracting part of a call is unbuckling the seatbelt, then trying to get under my coat and into my pocket to find the phone. It doesn't help that the new fords, even with seat all the way back and pedals forward, are short on leg room.
I agree drivers not paying attention is a problem. But if they weren't absorbed with thier conversation it would probably be something else - makeup, food, book, movie etc. You can't legislate common sense.
Now back to the previously scheduled thread...

if your one of the many who actually believe that talking on a cell while driving is an acceptable thing too do then you would think
you would have the phone ready when you get in the vehicle ?

I agree with all mark's comments on cell phone abuse in the car. I think though that the blue tooth technology for which this thread is referring is meant to better enable people to communicate while on the go without having to fumble around with a phone. As username stated, it is mandatory in some states. I think it should be in all states. The idea of having to just push a button and communicate through your stereo system is no different than having a conversation with someone setting in the passenger seat. Although that can be annoying as well when your behind someone who you can tell is carrying on with someone else instead of driving. I guess it depends on how you look at the situation. For business people...it is a blessing. For heavy gabbers...it's a convenience. And for the people behind these people...it's all a nuisance.
