Larry-
Ford has a great set-up for it ..... but every once in a while you can find one on E-bay for a significantly lower price then what you'd fork over at the Ford dealership. As for any aftermarket companies, there are none to date that make them specifically for the Ford. A buddy of mine was able to convert the drop down compartment (I.E. sunglasses holder) and setup a monitor in there. That was a fairly clean and inexpensive mod.

Have you looked into installing Headrest Monitors? They work GREAT in the fords, and its a very clean mod. Only problem is getting them professionally installedso you dont have fraying (if you have cloth) or leather bunching up. You can find a relativly cheap set of 7" monitors for around 230 for the pair. you can then buy an under-the-seat DVD player for 150 or so (good quality) and have youself a whole set-up, including installation for around 550-600 dollars, if you play your cards right. Hope this helps.

I had the Ford unit installed in my 2004 as a dealer option. My salesman charged me $1,274 to get it done, which is below the list price (but still expensive), and upgraded my head unit to an in-dash 6-disc changer. Getting the DVD was part of the overall deal when buying my truck so the price may reflect that...not sure if you'll be able to get that type of price or worse or better.

I do like mine, though, and think they did a good job installing it.

You can always go with something like this.... $800 refurb from Crutchfield. Works great. See gallery for more. JP
