Is this with your currecnt audiophile setup?...stock deck, front and rear speakers? Bascially, just the addition of the subs and amp?

I built my own sub box that houses 2 10's.

My truck didn't have the Audiophile, so I had to have some bass.

It won't win any competitions, but has just enough bump to keep me happy.

I upgraded the head unit to a Kenwood DDX-7015 and all 4 of my door speakers to Pioneer 4-ways it sounds great

I mounted a set of jl 8w0s in an MTX enclosure. These are very shallow mount but volume of the box was adequate. On the c weighted SPL meter I managed 121.9 which is pretty freaking good for a set of 8s in a small enclosure.

my vote goes to the JLs.
