I need stereo help???

ok, i've seen where 2 put my amp, amp, so iam goin to go with 2 10"s, for subs, which is better, JL audio 10W3's, or Kicker CompVR's?? i have the kickers already, but i was just wondering if the JL's were that much better?

and also, what size are the door speakers in a X-cab? 5x7's??

i have Kicker 5x7 components from my 03' F-150, will they work??

I know there are 5x7 in all 4 doors. The 5x7s you have should drop right in. I would stick with your Kickers. IMO. Good luck. JP

JL is the way to go. I blew a pair of comp vr 10's leaving the stereo shop. I went with 2 10w3's after that. They can really handle the power.

But if you already have kickers, guess you should use them....or sell them and get the good stuff

they are not 5x7's in each door--they are 6x8's . A lot of 5x7's have another set of holes that lets them fit in 6x8 holes, but not all of them.

I have a set of CVRs in my Jeep and they hit hard...I mean HARD. SO I now have a set to put in my Screw.
I have ran Kicker speakers for years and have never had a problem with them. The JL maybe able to handle more power but if you already have the CVRs stick with them....I would. As for selling them....you might as well throw them away (not really but you get the point) because there is no market for used subs.

Dude, go with the JL's. The Kicker's are Busch league. I have two 8w3's in my supercab and they are awesome.

like we said, most 5x7's have a set of holes that will allow them to be mounted in a 6x8 hole. there are also 'pure' 6x8's that have a larger cone than 5x7's do. These will fit our trucks as well. Take your stock speakers and try to put them in a vehicle with 5x7 stock speakers. They will not fit. There's a ton of posts in this forum, as well as the 6x8's I put in my truck that confirm this.

bottom line is, before you buy 5x7's, make sure they have the 6x8 capability, as there is a posibility (however small) that you will get burnt in the deal.
