Has Anyone Noticed.....

I had an FX4 and the ride was kind of "bouncy" over rough roads compared to my new Lariat ride which seems kind of stiff. Is this difference in ride because of the different shock package???

I like the Lariat ride better, but there is definitely a felt difference between the FX4 and Lariat ride. Has anyone noticed??

Ron

The FX for has offroad shocks...Rancho's I think. And stiffer springs I think. This will translate into a rougher onroad experience. That is one of the main reasons I went with a Lariat. The Lariat can still go offroad just fine but mine rides like a Town Car the rest of the time.

If there is a difference between the two it's not by much. Both ride really well.

I test drove both and really couldn't discern a difference.

Also, the FX4 shocks aren't real Ranchos. They are pretty much revalved el-cheapos.

I haven't spilled a drop of my finest campaign in my lariat yet. Not sure I'd trust the 'off-road' ride of the FX4...

The difference is small, but noticable.

Go on a rough dirt road in the desert at speed, you'll notice how great the FX4 shocks really are.

The FX4 almost feels like its riding on pogo sticks compared to the Lariat.

I test drove a Lariat Scab and FX4 Scab. I wasn't impressed with the ride of the Lariat at all. Neither was my GF. She and I liked the ride of the FX4 MUCH better, so I ordered it.

The thing will be here next week!

Exactly...

Geology Tour Road, Joshua Tree National Park
An 18-mile motor tour leads through one of Joshua Tree National Park’s most fascinating landscapes. There are 16 stops along a dirt road and it takes approximately two hours to make the round trip. A descriptive brochure that highlights each stop is available at the beginning of the road.

DrkShadow,

I love my new Lariat. Much better than the vibrating FX4. I should have bought a Lariat to begin with. I love the interior options. I work with High Speed Networks all day and the Lariat is made for Geeks. All those ***** and switches you know...

actually I meant to, then I got distracted...

Anyway I wouldn't know how either of them ride, I'm too busy picking up old aluminum cans to get the $0.05 deposit so I can make the payments on my humble XLT. If your caviar comes in a fancy tin, let me have it after its empty so I can use it to patch the corrugated tin roof on my shack.
