well tonight i was heading home from the bars and i got pulled because of " improper lights" i had my interior lights on and because of ford the bed light lit up and i got pulled, why would ford do this... ? now i have a 232 dollar ticket for some stupid lights that i can not controll. needless to say im pretty pissed off. especially right before xmas, i am a struggling college kid who works his *** off to pay tuition and now i have to deal with this crap, who ever thought that interior lights and bed lights would be a good idea should pay my ticket. sorry im bitching so much but i think this is crazy, ford should know that any light above 41" is illegal no matter where it is front or back... why isnt there a seperate switch and how can i make a mod with the interior light bieng on from the switch without the damn bed light coming on?? sorry again ive had to many drinks and im pissed now just had to rant for a while.... few i feel better

map lights, ford put them in so you can use them...

and your not even suppose to be driving with your interior lights on

 

Just run a pair of wires up to the light. Disconnect the hot wire from the light, and butt splice it to one of the wires. Connect the other wire to where the hot wire was. Then mount a toggle switch where ever you want and connect the wires one an each side of the switch. Now you can turn it off when you need to.

Why were you driving with the interior lights on? That makes it all but impossible to see out your back and side windows.

 

One if your struggling I cant figure out how. Have enough money to drive a new FX4 truck, have enough money to go to a bar, hmmmm sounds like your not struggling to bad. Any ways as already stated you could use your map lights if you needed to have a light on while driving (this is illegal by the way).

Sounds like to me as you stated "that you had to many drinks" that the cop did you a favor by only giving you a ticket for driving with your interior lights on and not a ticket for DUI/DWI.

 

Go to court on it, bet you get it reduced It's a hassle but 232? Oh my. I'd do it.

haha, that line was kind of funny but what happened was i was at a stop light and the cop was behind me, turned my lights on to try to find my phone and then his car lit up like a xmas tree. As for drinking and driving i have only done it once in my life and it was only for a mile or so, i was picking some of my friends up from downtown who had to much to drink and i didn't want them to drive, i started drinking when we got home. As for the comment about struggling by JDADDY, your right im not struggling that bad many people have it a lot worse all im saying is that i work real hard for the things i have and i like to enjoy the money that i do make by buying things such as a nice truck and going to a nice school. and because of that i dont have to much extra cash for a 232.00 dollar ticket. dzervit, i wasn't talking about the interior lights i couldn't control it was the bed light, i had no idea it came on with the interior lights. i dont want this to turn into a blasting thread like the one did about the "hit and run" so all im saying is yall are right, map lights would have been a good idea, and its my fault for posting last night when i had to much to drink, this wasn't the best way on my part to represent myself on this board considering that the only judge of character yall have is from what i post. well got to go to work now i just wanted to clear this up before it got nasty.

 

You wouldn't happen to be in a town where the local police hate the college students would you? We used to see this a lot, get jumped by 5 townies on your way back from McDonalds and they get off while the cop cites you for disturbing the peace of something like that. That sucks, right before Xmas, hope you made sure to say "Merry Christmas Officer" before he left.

 

yea, thats pretty much how it is here in Clemson all of the money is made for the department by traffic tickets and parking tickets. just to give you an idea, last week my girlfriend and i went to dinner and parked in an unmarked parking spot that turned out to be teacher parking well when we got back she had a ticket for 135.00, the worst part was that it was at 10:00 and there isnt evan faculty on campus!... last night i evan asked to get out of the car to talk with him after he wrote me a ticket so i could ask him if this would have any effect on getting into the fire academy, here in SC they dont like to accept anyone with a ticket in the past 6 months. i also did this so that the camera in the cop car could tell that i wasnt drinking considering i was on the way home from downtown at 1:30 in the morning. and yes i did tell him to have a nice night and a merry xmas!
