04 supercrew window tinting

Hope everyone has a Great Holiday. I was wondering if anyone has tinted the front upper visor of there windshield. I am going to tint my windows this week and I have been toying with the idea of tinting the front visor. There is the F-150 Logo in the way and wanted to see what other people have done to there trucks.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Merry Christmas
:santa:

I just got my windows tinted on friday.... the guy who did it said I could add the tint on the visor but he didnt suggest it because he did a mustang (with one of those little horses in the same spot) and he personally didnt like the look of it. I decided to stay away from it... it didnt seem like it would make a difference and i didnt want to take the chance of it looking funny....

PS - mErry christmas to you! LOL

If the dot matrix you are refering to can't be felt if you run your fingers across the area, than its inside the actual glass, tinting this will not be a problem. If it can be felt, its on the inside surface of the window. To avoid major bubbles by tinting that, cut a section of black adhesive vinyl to cover it, then tint the rest of the upper windshield. A lot of useful tips can be found here

What was the percentage for the front side windows to match the factory Ford rear side windows?

Thumper... I could be wrong but I dont think you can get that dark of a tint on the front windows... I believe that the stock tint is 20% though this dark of a tint is illegal in most (if not all) states.... I know in Texas the darkest you can go is 30% on the front windows.... and supposedly texas is pretty fexible about it, some dont allow any tint up front

I got the strip across the top of my windsheild tinted when I had my guy do the other windows. He just went right over the top of the little dot matrix dots up top. This guy said it would be no problem and wouldnt bubble up.

This guy is the best around. He's was tinting windows back when I was still poopin diapers. He has done all my friends vehicles and my past car. He stands behind his work saying that if there is ever ANY microscopic bubble, he'll fix it free of charge.

Tint over that crap behind the rearview mirror.

20% light transmittance (according to people here, I guess they've made it darker than before when 35% matched)

Then again are you talking about looking in from the outside or out from the inside? This is why I ask

As a reference, "limo black" is 5%

(edit: corrected value)
(edit again: found out the difference)

Had my front windows done. Left the windshield alone.

Had them match the rear windows, same as I did on my old 01 KR. Sorry, don't know the percentage, didn't ask.

Factory tint is 20%, not 35%...

You can have them cut out around the F150 portion, so you can still see it.

Hope it helps

Why not just tint the whole front windshield...... it's only 100 dollars.... and if you get pulled over for it, it's a slap on the wrist and you ahve to take it off...at least that's how it is in arizona... As for the visor tint, unless your front windows are limo tint, which is illegal, it doesnt look asthetically pleasing. Then again, I'm "one of those" who defeats the purpose of a work truck and put 22's on it. It's all about pleasing the eyes. I don't really care for the F150 logo u on my windsheild, and eventually I'll figure something out to get rid of it. In my opinion, don't worry about the visor too much, and if you do "limo" your front windows to match windows, (5% tint) just make sure you have great night vision, and anytime you drive near a police officer, roll them suckas down!
