I don't understand why people lift 2wd trucks?? You can't take them off roading? I never could figure out why people lower their trucks either?? Buy a car if you want a low rider.

Different strokes for different folks.

I agree and disagree.... I too have a 2wd and have my ocasional fun off road, not exactly deep mud and rock climbing but normal off roading (the kind you have to do to go hunting and stuff and every now and then a little fun.... not the kind you never see in real life and have to drive 100 miles to pay to get into a 4x4 park).... you 4x4 people make it seems like having a 2wd is worthless. Yes a huge 12 in lift with 40" tires on a 2wd is an extreme waste of money. Im not going to be climbing boulders but I want to be able to take my truck places a car cant.... In my opinion, a mild lift with larger tires to me seems like a very useful investment into a truck of any sort.... From what ive seen and experienced, having a 4x4 only gives idiots the idea that their truck is invinsible. I cant count how many times Ive seen 4x4's stuck in ditches that I would have trouble walking threw and ive also see people in 2wd's tackle what alot of people would think twice about taking their 4x4. Dont get me wrong I know theres alot a 2wd shouldnt do that a 4x4 would probably be fine with, but that also means theres a whole lot more to go wrong.

Thats my 2 cents....

ps - I actually had to pull a chevy 4x4 out of the mud a few weeks ago.

that looks awesome. doesnt matter if its a 4x4 or 4x2. most lifted trucks dont see offroad anyways.

4wd is more useful, however if you just drive around town and like to have a lifted truck, there is nothing wrong with 2wd. 2wd lifted is just more of a street lift. also, has the advantage of just having to regear the rear axel instead of both. either way they look good, and each serve their own purpose depending on the owner.

I dislike 2WD trucks b/c driving them here in the winter is a PITA and can get dangerous. Most of the trucks on the lots here are 4x4, but my brother tells me its the opposite in Pensacola so I guess the geographic region you have to deal with influences feelings (mine anyway) about it.

I have a 4x4 and 98% of it's life it will not be engaged. Off-roading, snow, whatever... it's rarely needed. I'm not rock climbing or mud boggin'. 4x2s are just fine. Plus they can out haul your 4x4.

Anywho, I like the look, but they ruined the truck with the lame-o paint job. Bleh!

I think a lot of it has to do with the drivers too when it comes to off roading. A buddy of mine has a Dodge 1500 4x4. He takes it mudding all the time (about twice a week) and he rarely puts it in 4x4. He goes through so much like that his black truck is solid brown all over. Never gotten stuck. When we went up to Texas A&M to my brothers apartment, we went mudding, along with some of his buddies. A guy with the same exact truck got stuck in 4x4, then my buddy pulled him out, and of course had to show off and went through the exact same thing in 4x2 with no problem. So I dont want to hear that a lifted 4x2 is useless, because that is complete BS. If you know how to drive in mud, you will have a hard time getting stuck.
