DSB Question.
I filed with the DSB because I have had a terrible idle and miss since the truck was practically new. I would have kept letting them try to fix the truck, but the last time I took it in, Ford said they recgnized the problem but would not fix it until engineering had a "solution".
So anyways, my hearing is scheduled for December 17th. The FSE confiremed that there currently is no fix for my concern. That they hope to have a solution sometime early next year.
So after not hearing from Ford since November 10th when they left me a message to say that engineering was working on the "convenience problem", which would not affect the reliability or longevity of my vehicle, I heard from them today.
There dispute resolution specialist called to offer me an extended warranty, and confirmed that they are working on a solution for sometime early next year.
My question is, is this a standard offer to everyone? I sorta feel that they are trying to settle prior to the DSB?
Any non flame comments would be appreciated.

I had the same response on a problem with the transfer case shifter on a 98 f150. I would as them to put in writing that they will buy the vehicle back if the fix is delayed past a certain date at full price.
They will try to delay and then offer you less due to the increased mileage. In most states you only have to pay for the mileage up to the first attempted fix.
If ford is forced to buy back the vehicle they have to disclose that it was a buyback if a good will buyback they do not have to disclose.
I had to take the truck to DSB because it was rusting out on the doors and tailgate after only 1 year. It ended up that ford had to replace all 3 doors and the tailgate. No buyback, I traded as soon as the paint was dry.
Good luck.

I'm getting the same responses with my vibe issue. I do as well has a rough idle but I've not hammered them on since I'd like to see them fix my first issue. Keep us informed on how things go and good luck.
As far as the warranty Q goes, personally I would not take it. I already purchased the 72 month warranty but that's not really the point. I've seen some of the vibe tribe members get similar "offers" to get rid of them as well. They have received buy backs since then if I remember correctly.

After everything I've been through, I never got a call from any member of Ford although I was suppose to. At least they did that for you. I had my DSB hearing today. I'm just hoping they decide for Ford to buy this truck back so I can get a reliable vehicle for another manufacturer.
I wish you much luck!

I hope everything works out for you.
I traded in a trouble free 2002 F150. I know that Ford is not evil, but I received a bad apple.
I just want to be rid of the thing. And move on.
Let me know how yours turns out. Mine is on the 17th.
I wonder how long it takes to get the decision?

The DSB's letter states that someone from Ford or your Dealer may contact you before your hearing to try and resolve your problems. My FSE said my trucks driveline vibration was normal so I never got a call before my phone interview. It took a few months. I won and got back all but $535 (first 2,500 miles)for milage use, I drove the truck for a total 13 months and 23,000 miles.
From the time of the actual hearing to the time I was driving a new truck it took exactly four weeks. My hearing was on November 12th and I just signed off on my new truck yesterday which was December 10th. That included the letter sent to me from the DSB stating that I was awarded a replacement truck. I also had to return a letter agreeing to the replacement and the things such as mileage fee's ect. I also had to send in my registration, sales agreement, and financial paperwork along with the agreement letter.
I stayed on top of things with the DSB and my dealer. Luckily the GM of my dealership has worked for Ford many years and had experience with the DSB process. That helped things along as well.

I am supposed to get my paperwork from the DSB today. I can't wait to see what Ford will say.
I called my Gramps, the Ford retiree, and he told me to counter offer. He said, "Tell them you want a GD new truck, not a warranty."
Nothing like ancient wisdom.

Received the paperwork. The FSE said they are aware of the problem, and that they are "confident" that they will be able to fix it in January.
The dealer did say that this is "normal" operation.
Well I guess I will see what the DSB decides.

I paid $1,000 more for the upgrade to a Lariat. Plus I had to pay $360 because my first visit to the dealer was at 3,600 miles and the DSB charged me .10 a mile. I'm still scratching my head about the mileage fee because I told them that it vibrated from day that I purchased the truck. It just took me time to figure out that the vibration was not a characteristic of the truck.
