First Hunting Trip In 04 FX4

WARNING - Dead animal picture ahead. If you do not approve of hunting, you need not go any farther! Click back, and have a nice day. Mr. Moderator... If this is not cool with you in anyway, please remove it and let me know, and I will not post these pictures or any like it again. I see fishing photos on this site, so assumed that hunting ones were ok too.

Took my truck hunting for the first time. Got to Kremmling, CO at 8:00am, and was on the way home at 11:30am. It was kind of a drag, because I was having a blast seeing what this truck could do, and really didn't feel like stopping to process the game, but then I like a fresh steak too, so......home we went.

The snow on top of the saddle, (8500 ft. elevation) where this picture was taken, was only about 6 - 8 inches deep, but the snow on the side of the mountain was about 12 inches pretty steady all the way up. I had no problems what so ever, and was very happy at how this walked up the hill. It's no Jeep Wrangler, but it was very adequate. After the two Elk yearlings (Wild Veal) were thrown in, it only got better in snow. I really did hate to leave. More pictures of snowy mountains in my gallery soon. This is the only picture of the Elk.

Hey, this is a Ford site.

If anybody doesn't like hunting they can take their girly butts over to the Nissan site.

How far "east" are you, Burlington east or ???

Yep. Burlington it is. Grew up in Denver, moved out here when it got too crowded. Now, 8 miles from Kansas.

Where are you?

I'm in Parker.

I've passed by you many, many times - all my relatives live in the Hays area.

Small world huh?

Real small. I lived in Quinter for awhile, and shopped in Hays every weekend.

So how is Parker these days? I used to drive out there when I lived in Lakewood, but Parker was 50 miles of field before you hit the great BBQ place on Parker Rd. Now-a-days, it's all connected. Took the back road from Limon through Kiowa a couple weeks ago, and couldn't believe the construction there. Good thing I have the new truck, because if I didn't have that nice quiet interior, with a good CD playing, I'd have blown a fuse in all that traffic!

Next time you drive by the Big B, wave!

Yeah, its really growing. I have a buddy who lives in Kiowa. That used to be bum_uck Egypt and now its not too far off the beaten path.

When you get that Mach done, I'd love to see it sometime. One of my favorites for sure. I used to be pretty heavy into muscle cars, mostly Mopar 340's and Z-28s. Always wanted a Mach I though.

Do you have the production numbers on the 390? I know the vast majority where 351's. I wonder how rare the 390's are? I know the 428's are rarer than a hounds tooth.

Without going to far with the details, the car is one of 118, and that is due to it's color, motor, tranny combo. It's Acapulco Blue, with a 390, and C6 auto. 52K original. Has been sitting since 1974 when my Grandfather bought it. Hopefully, I will have it far enough along to take to the Mustang roundup in Steamboat Springs this Summer. If you like Mustangs, it's the place to be. This one is the 4th I've had, and I'll probably sell it when it's done and buy another 69 that I can customize without ruining it's value. This one will be too much of a collectors prize to drive. I'll post to ya when it's done next summer. It's really not in as bad of shape as the pictures make it look.

Not to hijack Machs thread more than it has been but Rick, the snow is the best its been in many years. We've finally been getting some relief from the prolonged drought we've been in.

Enjoy the skiing.
