Thumbs up Check out my loaner - This could be FUN!

I was bumming this weekend when I hit a deer with my new F-150. See Thread here. The truck is in the shop getting fixed. Fortunately I have good insurance. They are picking up the tab for a rental car. Check out what they gave me! I know it's not as nice as my regular ride, but this could be fun! It's a 04 Dodge Ram SLT 4X4 with the 5.7 Hemi.

First impression is that this truck feels a lot faster than my FX4! I have the superchips 1714 tuner from Troyer Performance (Thanks for the Christmas Card Mike!), which helps a lot, but the Ram feels lighter and quicker. The steering is not as tight, and the ride is not quite as nice, but overall the Ram seems like a decent truck. So far gas milage is only about 13 MPG in the Ram.

I'm going to provide a detailed evaluation (and comparison) when I get more time in the seat. I have the truck for a little more than a week. Any suggestions for "Science Experiments" you guys would like me to try?!

Don't worry, I'm not joing any Ram Forums just yet...

I drove one of those before I bought my FX. It does have a pretty nice roar from under the hood. No comparison though in my and i'm sure many others opinions on here.

My truck is in the body shop too... Got rear ended by a 16 year old virgin driver. My trailor was attached so it didn't mess up the bumper or tailgate. (No repainting or bent sheet metal.) It bent the hitch receiver and frame a little though from the impact. (Which is worse?) They said it's an easy fix though. I was suppose to get it back today...but havn't heard yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Anyway...I've got a rental now too. I asked for a full size truck and got a Chevy. Man...this thing is either an 03 or 04 and it feels like I'm driving a 10 year old truck. Of course it's not loaded like mine but my guaawd... It's AWFUL!!!~~~~

Talking Garage

Good thinking hiding it in the garage... excatily what I would do. I know there would be some phone calls from the guys about seeing a Dodge parked there. :-) . lol

Check out what they gave me!
Can they make that front grille any larger!?!? The one thing I really didn't like about the Ram. The older ones weren't tooo bad, but these look hideous to me.

Good luck with the repair work, I just recently had mine done and it looks like new again

Nitrous Oxide.

From an experienced, and stupid, rental car driver, nitrous is one of the most fun mods you can do.

Just ask my buddies last rental, a 2 door Saturn. That thing has never seen so much abuse

I've always thought they were a little over the top. Like trying WAY too hard to be macho. Like the kids in the vocational school auto class designed it. They should tone it down a tad and it wouldn't look too bad.

my buddy has a Hemi Ram quad cab 4x4... basically the same as mine but in a Dodge. No doubt its faster. It doesnt fell any lighter. It feels like a big powerful pig. The Ford feels much more refined.
