Sirius placement

I had been looking for some photos of different sirius placement / antenna placement on the 04 but did not run across any, so I thought I would post what I had. Hope this helps anybody trying to make that decision on where to put their new christmas present

INteresting boomer. I ordered the same unit, should have it this week. Although I think your install looks good, I'm not sold on it 100%. Do you feel like it's a bit obtrusive? Does it get in the way of your other controls at all? Did you have to drill into the dash at all? I think I'm going to go for a headliner or sunvisor mount somehow. I wish I could see yours in person to get a feel for it. Looks good though, thanks for the info. JP

No it is really not in the way of anything. It holds pretty close to the dash and is placed in a manner as to allow everything to function as it was intended and the controls for everything are still readily accessible. I didn't want to go for a new head unit and the PNP-3 seemed like a good choice for me. The holes that were drilled are behind the molding around the radio and not visible at all. It is solid where it is located and does not block the right side airbag either (in case someone else were to drive it while I was a passenger- like that's gonna happen?) Thanks for the feedback.

Not!

Sorry, that's "is" an obtrusive install. No flow with respect to the console lines, sticks out and looks like it doesn't belong there.
I too would like to add sat radio, but id this is the way it looks installed, no thanks.

This is were my antenna is. Almost not even noticable. Glad they made them smaller and the wire is so thin, it goes in the grove easily.

Sorry to those who thought I suggested that it looked like Henry Ford put it in at the factory. If that is what you need, I guess a new head unit is the way to go, but this works great for me. I definitley don't think it would be for you Cobraguy. But if I were you, I would find a way to get satellite I could live with, it is great and I think you would enjoy it.

The place that installed mine said they used to install them in through the reverse light but they started getting complaint that the light would start leaking so they started doing them up front.

Mine has a seal leak anyways, time to get it replaced on my next dealer visit

Nice rig by the way!
Looks like a good placement of the antenna.. does it work nicely in that place? Any dead spots?

The dash mount seem ideal but yet unrefined. I would mount it up top with that bracket coming out the top trim piece or something.

Reminds me of a boat compass or fish finder setup....

Who's got the XM radio that goes in the ashtray?
