ARE LSII Installed

No pics just yet but, it's installed and operational. I sprung for the automatic lock that ties in with the truck's locking mechanisms and also for a carpeted 'underside' of the lid.

Pics forthcoming.

The a.r.e. covers are sharp.

Noticed today when I washed my truck that the front lip of the cover had rubbed the side of the bed when dirty, when the lid is fully up and scratched about a penny size circle area on the bedside....May want to keep an eye out for that.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back including the options?

Why yes... it has already been clayed.

Thanks 04 RL... I'll watch for that. I checked it last night when I had it open and it seemed to be perfect but, I'll keep an eye on it. I know 'repaint' isn't covered under the warranty.

In today's daylight, I noted a couple of 'scuffs' on it that I'm going to attempt to get out (one probably won't come all the way out). I'm also going to call the place where I purchased it and attempt to achieve some recourse. A set of HUSKY Liners might make me a happy camper.

As for price, I believe I got it for $765 lock, stock and barrel.

So now you need a bedrug for that sweet custom carpeted bed look.

You should have waited for the A.R.E. LSX coming out this week. It is just for the '04+ F150 5.5' and 6.5' bed.

I missed the boat on that one! I had no idea that they were releasing a new product!

Then again, this thing has been on order since I bought my truck as I worked it into the deal. oh well... I love the looks of this one...

But, the inquisitive side of me wonders what this LSX will look like... have any pictures?

RP,

Can you describe the ARE remote lock operation? Does it unlock the tonneau or does it pop it open or exactly what?

I got my Snuglid with the remote opener kit, but would rather integrate it with the existing remote than carry the fat remote key for it (OK, it wouldn't be that bad, but...) The Snuglid pops open, so it cannot be tied directly in with the doors.

The A.R.E. remote lock unlocks and locks the locking mechanism of the cover. There is no "pop-up" action.

Easterisland is right Myst. It simply activates the lock. No pop-up action.

I do like the fact that it is tied in with my regular remote though.

Thanks EI...

Not sure I see a big difference in functionality honestly... I'm happy with what I got.

Thanx for the help
