I Can't Wait - New 2005 Lariat

All,

As most of you know the DSB awarded me a buy back on my vibrating FX4. I'm working with the DSB and the dealer now to work out the financials and decide on a replacement truck. The new truck is being shipped to the dealer tomorrow. Its a 2005 Lariat Aspen Green with Arizona Beige trim. Tan leather interior with all the bells and whistels. Problem is I can't take delivery of the truck until the DSB delivers paper work to my dealer and we work out the financials.

it reminds me

of sitting in the front room and having to wait on your brother or sister to get up before you could start on the presents.

Well I wish you a fast delivery on the paper work.

BTW

Congrats on the truck

Pics after you take delivery.

So your getting a replacment instead of a buy back? Besides the cost of difference of the 2 trucks, how much money do you stand to loose if any? I know your still working on the details, but what do you think?

tjaas,

They take sticker price of my current vehicle and sticker price of selected vehicle and compare the two (MSRP to MSRP). I will owe the difference which in my case is about $1,000 because I'm upgrading to a Lariat.

I also owe them for initial mileage because I took the truck in for the first service visit at 3,000 miles. I owe ten cents per mile which comes out to around $300 plus I have to pay the tax's and registration on the new vehicle.

The good part is I already made six payments on my existing truck so I get that money credited from what I understand. In the end I should get a check for a couple hundred bucks and a new truck.

One more thing is that I can not take advantage of any rebates, but can take advantage of lower interest rates.

PA,

What about down payment and add on if you had any. In my case I put down $ 7,000.00 and bought a Leer toneau cover $750.00.

tjaas,

Accessories can be moved from one vehicle to another at Ford's cost. No cost to you.

Your down payment is just like my trade. I don't have an answer to this question. I traded in my 2000 F-150 and had enough equity in that truck to use towards the new truck. That's a good question.

Is Ford giving you the option of declining the truck if it also vibrates? That would really suck if you got two of them in a row.

Good luck!

I'm going to pick up the new 2005 Lariat tomorrow morning to test drive it for two days. The dealer suggested that I test drive before taking possession of the new truck to ensure there are no vibration issues with this truck. It's getting closer!!

I'm shocked that you haven't already driven the truck. I've driven about 6 of them and I've found only 2 that didn't vibrate. Ford is having a hard time selling these trucks now and is slowing down production.

Huh?

"Sales of the F-series truck rose 7 percent "

http://www.forbes.com/work/feeds/ap/...ap1685345.html

CBS MarketWatch
"At Ford, for example, sales of the Ford Focus plunged 39 percent while the flagship Ford F150 pickup grew almost 3 percent. "
