Unhappy Heated Mirror Died

Truck going back into the shop to fix the mirror. Passenger side will not defrost. 26k miles, good thing it's still under warranty.

It's also going in for a vibration (again). This truck likes to throw wheel weights off.

Either way it is still under warranty and will be fixed. I don't understand why people have to post every single thing that goes wrong with their truck. Tens of thousands are built and unfortunately there will be some problems. Now if it broke let's say numerous times or Ford refused to fix it, then we would have something to talk about. But a simple warranty issue, and an isolated one at that, isn't really anything to talk about. Take it in and get it fixed.

I was just wondering if it was one of those little things where a wiring harness wasn't plugged in tight enough from the factory and not actually a defective part.

Easy Slick!

It's just something to post about, talk about and vent about. I SERIOUSLY doubt he is the only one this has happened to.

While it may not be as big an issue as the vibe, it's an issue to him.

I think I've had too much Turkey...

I suspect that I might have a problem with mine also. The one side seems to clear the dew a lot quicker than the other side. It hasn't been cold enough in Pennsylvania yet to test it on frost. Anyway, I hope that your mirror gets fixed quickly without incident.

Which side clears quicker for you? My driver's side mirror seems to defrost alot quicker than the other side (passenger).

I believe mine is opposite of yours. I want to check once there's a frost. Maybe there was just more dew on one verses the other...

RED WING If nobody post it's simple problems, nobody can know if this is an isolated failure or a recurrent and common fail.

Keep posting any failures out trucks can have.

Since you don't understand, I'll clarify my point, to which you can either agree or disagree, it's your choice and I don't really care. The car manufacturers have recalls and fixes for various things. True?? Just say true. Good, now then, they don't just all of a sudden decide to do a recall, there has to be a reason. If they start seeing lots of warranty work for certain things, they test and make a determination to recall or do a TSB, or nothing. In the old days, they needed documentation from dealers and it took a while to compile and sort, and everything else they had to do. They still do it that way, but they have other ways as well. The Ford people read this forum, don't kid yourself that they don't. If they start seeing a vast majority of us complaining of something, you know they are going to have to take action. So, me posting it here and seeing others with the same problem may or may not cause Ford to evaluate whether or not to redesign the mirror or figure out if it's a possible bad batch of relays. Now excuse me while I
