2004 6 disc non-audiophile...how many speakers?

I have a 2004 with the upgrade of a 6 disc changer, but unfortunately no sub. Wondering how many speakers I have--looks like there might be components in the front door, is that right? Also, to add a sub but keep the stock 6 disc, does it have preout? Thanks...

(I know I could put this in one of the audio forums...but this seemed a better fit and more likely to be answered quickly!)

I believe that only the audiophile give you additional speakers (tweeters in front). All non-audiophile (including 6 disc changer) has 4 speakers, 2 in front & 2 in rear.

He's right and no pre outs. You will have to used Low Line Convertors connected to the speakers wires to add a sub.

Really? The Audiophile HU has pre-outs? Hmmm.... I'm looking to put in my BA speakers, Alpine amp & stealthbox... but wondered about the HU. I'd like to keep the factory for now and pre-run all the wires for an easy HU upgrade in the future... possible? Sorry to hijack the thread (as usual).

Maybe not pre-outs per se (ie, RCA or anything like that), but a pre-out like signal, right? What wires coming off the harness?!

Well in a way thats right, but as I said above, you will have to connect low line convertors to the stock speakers wires behind the hu. Then run RCAs from them to your amp. Then run new speaker wires from your amp to your speaker locations. You can use a RCA splitter to send the sig. to your sub amp and use the amps crossover to block out the highs. Thats the way mine is done and I have the stock non- Audiophile 6-disc hu.
