I looked around a little...the cheapest name brand set I found was DJMs from Stylin Concepts for around $58 shipped.

I paid $50 for my DJM shackles used, so I would jump on those if I were you.

cheapest shackles

There is a place here in phoenix called performance suspension. They have a website and the shackles are $35-40 if i remember correctly. I used them on my lightning and have them on my 04' now. Just FYI.

The 4x2 does not have the +/- 2" steel lift blocks in the rear end. I lowered my FX4 rear end by removing this 2" steel lift, which sits below the leaf springs, and replaced the "U" Bolts with Ford oem "U" bolts for a 4x2. The 4x2 "U" Bolts are shorter. It's really easy to remove them on the 4x4. No performance or shock compression issues to deal with either.

How to do it:
If you look under your truck, it is nothing more than removing 2 "U" bolts from each side of the rear end leaf springs, then use a floor jack to lift the rear end up enough to remove the 2" steel blocks, then lower the truck to the floor and put the new (shorter) "U" bolts over the leaf spring.
