Question cb radio wiring

Hey guys I haveinstalled a cb radion on the transmission hump but I need to run the power and ground wires where is the best place to do that in the cab? Or should I just run them out to the battery?

for a cb, I would personally avoid a line straight to constant 12v, as forgetting to turn the thing off one cold could kill a battery. I'd suggest picking up a switched 12v line (that's hot only when the ignition is set to 'on' or 'acc'. There are several of these lying around under the dash, easiest of which could be picked up at the back of the radio head unit. That's what I pulled off of for my xm controller, although I did already have the radio out anyway...

for ground, there's plenty of places under the dash as well, or if you lift a trim panel, you can find metal anywhere.

Mine I had done at a CB shop - but he did hard wire it to the fuse box. If the truck is still off, I can still turn on the CB. Works great for me!

You can run it straight to the battery, just make sure you put a switch in it.......the question is how many amps does it draw when using it there good buddy.

my advice is to run off the trailer brake harness, works the best, no cutting, plug and play.

Ill try to get her cleaned up this week we have had alot of rain so its pretty much one big mud puddle around here, so its pointless to wash your truck when you have to run right back thru the mud to leave anywhere! but as soon as I get her clean Ill do some pics!
