Question Abnormal startup behavior

This morning I went to start my truck like I normally do before going to work. This morning, however, after I started the truck, it idled unusually high. Normally it idles around 6-700 RPM, but this morning, it was idling steady at 1000 RPM. It stayed that way until I back out then it returned to normal idle range. Anyone else experienced this? What would cause this? It was almost like the throttle was stuck partway open.

Just over 13,000 miles and it was built in April 04.

sounds normal to me, especially when it's colder out. Was it a little cooler this morning in Florida?

My truck has done this from the start. It is more noticable as the weather gets colder though. Maybe that is the cause just a thought.

My truck the other day when i strarted it up and idled real rough, then raised rpms to about 1200 rpm. Settled back down, drove normally till i got to around 95mph and it started bucking.. I pulled off on my exit, turn the truck off, turned it back on, ran flawlessy then. I got no clue what was going on.

It wasn't cold tyhis morning at all. It has been colder than this morning and it didn't do it, so I am not associating it to any kind of temperature. Like I said, it drove normal after that initial high idle, just caught me off guard.

It is suppose to idle faster at cold start. See page 148 of owners manual. I'd be more worried why it hasn't done it in the past.

Scince Ive first owned it, it idles 2 or 300 rpms faster at startup, no matter what the weather. After a few seconds, it goes back down to normal. I have been having a wierd problem where I have to hold the ignition longer when Im starting the truck. I had to try 3 times this morning to start my truck. It doesnt stall or anything, I just have to hold the ignition over longer than usual.
