New truck
New truck
Just wanted to say hi. Just got a used 2004 supercab ford 4x4 lariat it has 7000 miles on and paid lil over 25 for it. these trucks are awesome alot better than my mustang i traded . I have a question how can i tell if i have 3.73 gear in this truck. any help will be greatly appreciated thanks
You bought your truck used! For shame.
Just kidding welcome and congrats on your purchase.
Check the VIN tag on the door jamb for an axle code. You can then take that code to your dealer and they will tell you, or you can check the tag on the diff itself. The ratio will be stamped on that tag.

hi back, amf, and welcome aboard.
if the previous owner kept the sticker in the same pouch as the owner's manual it would be on that....
how did the previous owner take care of it? nice condition? did he make any mods?
congrats on the truck, and get a gallery as soon as you can. one thing that everyone here really enjoys is looking at pics of other trucks!

Hey man welcome and enjoy your truck! Its amazing, another guy that traded his mustang for the truck!!! I traded my 01 Bullitt with 9k miles off for my FX4. Miss it, but love the truck!

Welcome amf,
See attached photo right from the 2004 order code book. Match the three digit axle code from the chart to what's on your door jamb sticker for axle code and VOILA! you'll know the axle ratio and whether it's limited slip or not. The axle codes on the picture read X27, X19, X26 and X25 for non limited slip and XH9, XB6 and XB5 for limited slip, good luck. Email me if you can't read the picture, good luck and congrats on the "new" truck.

BTW, I just picked up a 2005 Super Crew King Ranch 4x4, hehe.
Later,
